False Portrayal of Women in Media ââ¬Å"We as women are trained to see ourselves as cheap imitations of fashion photographs, rather than seeing fashion photographs as cheap imitations of womenâ⬠-Naomi Wolfe. In most advertisements as well as some movies and tv shows, women are shown in not very much clothing, while also being photoshopped and airbrushed. Young women and girls are constantly being sexualized in the media, in order to make more money, and sell more of whatever is being advertised. Many people claim that ââ¬Å"sex sellsâ⬠, when in fact it only causes women to become insecure, and feel the need to buy whatever is being sold in order to feel confident and beautiful. Many magazine covers and advertisements tend to photoshop women, leaving the reader to believe a naturally thin, tan, curvy body is what everyone should have this is a good point. The media constantly puts women on display in various ways, showing only what they believe people would want to see. Th is objectification of women leaves other females this phrasing is kinda awkward because it sounds like females are separate from women. constantly feeling as if they need to change in order to find love, and feel confident. A social policy change must be put into action in order to influence the media to stop printing what they believe will make money, and instead print what will help women see that they donââ¬â¢t need to buy products to make them instantly beautiful.
